SAP Notes for the Brazilian Tax Reform: how to track, decide and prove they were applied

Every note that reaches SAP can change a calculation, a document or a tax assessment. The job is to know which notes exist, decide if and when to apply them, and prove afterward that the system still calculates what the company decided.

It is a process with an owner, a system landscape, a sequence, tests and a record, and it has to exist before the first reform note reaches production.

The cycle

Six steps between the publication of a note and the proof

The note is the start of the work, not the end. The cycle applies to any note with a tax effect, from the reform or not.

01

Monitor

Know the note exists, through fixed channels and a fixed routine, before someone applies it without telling the tax team.

02

Triage

Classify the note by its effect: calculation, electronic document, tax assessment, or no direct tax effect.

03

Decide

Apply now, apply in the window, postpone or do not apply, with the criteria and the owner in writing.

04

Apply

Implement in dependency order, system by system, up to production.

05

Test

Compare tax behavior before and after, using the cases the note may touch.

06

Prove and record

Keep the evidence of the application and of the effect in the note record, with date and signature.

The short answer

Tracking a note is a decision with an owner and proof

SAP delivers the fix. The company decides whether it goes in, when it goes in and how to prove the calculation is still right. The reform itself, tax by tax, has its own page at Tax Reform: IBS and CBS in SAP, and the notes process starts where that page ends.

In one sentence

Tracking reform SAP Notes means answering, note by note and in writing: does it touch tax, does it go in now or later, and what proof shows that it went in and that the effect is the expected one.

What is tracked

The reform notes and the other notes that change a calculation, a document or a tax assessment, starting from the lead note that lists the deliveries and their order.

Who decides

Tax decides the impact and the position. IT decides the technical risk and the window. Neither decides for the other.

What is proven

The application, with version, status, transport and date, and the effect, with case, expected result, actual result and approval.

What SAP publishes

The notes and the reform guides that organize the work

For the Brazil reform, SAP maintains reference notes that say what was delivered and in what order to implement it. The process starts from them.

Reform lead note

Describes the delivery and support strategy, lists the deliveries as they are released and attaches an XML file for the Note Analyzer.

Note 3561376

Note Analyzer

Tool that imports the XML of the lead note and shows the implementation order of the notes in the set.

Brazil Tax Reform Localization

Read the note at the source

The text of each note is read at the source, in SAP for Me, by whoever implements it. A third-party summary does not replace that reading, and the process always starts from SAP's text.

Monitoring

Six channels and one routine so no note arrives unannounced

To monitor is to have defined channels and a fixed time to read them. Without that, the note arrives through technical application and the tax team finds out later.

Reform lead note

Reread the delivery list and the XML at each update. It is the map of what exists and of the order in which it goes in.

Suggested routine: at each published update.

SAP for Me

New and updated notes for the components in use, and the security notes, read by an IT owner.

Suggested routine: weekly.

Patch Day

The month's security notes, which change the same system where the tax calculation runs.

Routine: second Tuesday of each month.

SAP Work Zone for the localization

Findings from other customers and partners. It works as an early warning, not as a source for deciding.

Suggested routine: weekly.

Tax authority acts

Layout, CST and cClassTrib table and deadlines published by the Federal Revenue Service and by Confaz. It is the legal trigger that puts a date on the note.

Suggested routine: at each publication.

GUEPARDO Tax deliveries

When the calculation runs in the NTT DATA product, its deliveries go into the same list.

Routine: at each delivery.

A named owner reads the six channels at a fixed time and opens a line in the single list of notes. All the rest of the process starts from that list.

Patch Day

Twelve fixed dates to read the notes of the month

SAP publishes the new security notes on the second Tuesday of each month. The 2026 dates are below.

Why tax looks at it

A security note is not a tax note, but it changes components of the same system, goes into the same application window and can touch an area the calculation uses.

Reach of the fix

SAP delivers fixes of high or very high severity only for Support Packages released in the last 24 months, while the version is under standard or extended maintenance.

Customers find the notes in SAP for Me, in the security notes area, by choosing the full list. The Support Package level of the system decides whether the month's fix reaches it.

Starting point

The note backlog: what is already in and nobody has assessed

Before the process applies to new notes, you need to know what was already applied in the system. That backlog is the first result of the work.

Survey

List the implemented, partially implemented and pending notes, using the list the Note Assistant provides for the system itself.

Cross-check with the lead note

Compare the list with the reform deliveries and point out what is missing and what is out of order.

Classify

Run each relevant note through the four triage categories, even if it is already in production.

Test what is already in

Run the regression on the cases that notes in categories A, B and C touch and record the result.

A note implemented incompletely deserves special attention: the system keeps working and may calculate differently from what is expected without any warning. That is why the survey separates complete implementation from partial.

The result is the first record for each relevant note and a list of open items, each with an owner and a date. The tax readiness checklist helps measure the rest of the system.

Tax triage

Four categories to say whether the note touches tax

Triage separates the note that needs the tax team from the one that does not. The criterion is the effect of the note, not the component it changes.

A. Calculation and determination

Changes how the tax, the base, the rate or the tax status is determined, including the new IBS and CBS fields.

Goes to: tax review before any application.

B. Electronic document

Changes what goes into the XML, the layout, the validation rule or the communication with SEFAZ and the Federal Revenue Service.

Goes to: tax and IT together, with the layout calendar in view.

C. Tax assessment and obligations

Changes the result of the tax assessment, the bookkeeping or the file of an ancillary obligation.

Goes to: tax and accounting, with a close test.

D. No direct tax effect

Visual, performance or component fix that touches no tax, document or bookkeeping.

Goes to: normal IT technical process, with the triage recorded.

When in doubt, the note moves up a category

When the reading does not allow you to say the note does not touch tax, it is treated as A, B or C until the owner decides. Classifying as D is also a decision, with a date and an author.

The blind spot between IT and tax, which this filter closes, is described in the blog article on SAP Notes with tax impact.

Triage questions

Eight questions the owner asks of each note

The first four questions decide whether tax gets involved. The last four decide the order and the window.

  • Does the note talk about tax, base, rate, classification or tax status?
  • Does it change a field, table or setting in the tax master data for a product, partner or operation?
  • Does it change the content of the tax document XML or a validation rule?
  • Does it touch the integration with the tax assessment, with SPED or with bookkeeping?
  • Does it require manual activity after implementation, such as setup or a table adjustment?
  • Does it depend on another note, a Support Package or a component version that the system does not have yet?
  • Is there a customer-owned object at the same point, such as an exit, a BAdI or a Z program?
  • Is there a legal date that requires the new behavior?

Any yes to questions 1 to 4 sends the note to the tax team. Questions 5 to 8 do not change the category: they define the order, the window and the test effort.

Decision criteria

Apply, postpone or do not apply: the decision with written criteria

Every note with a tax effect ends in one of four decisions. Not applying also counts, as long as it has an owner and a reason.

01

Apply with priority

There is a near legal date, or the missing note makes the system calculate wrongly today. It goes into the first possible window.

02

Apply in the regular window

There is a fix or a gain with no legal date. It goes into the normal maintenance cycle, after testing.

03

Postpone with a record

The note depends on a prerequisite, collides with custom code or falls in a close period. The new date and the reason are written down.

04

Do not apply, with a record

The note does not apply to the customer's use, or the risk outweighs the gain. Tax and IT sign the decision and the review date.

Five factors that weigh

  • The legal date that requires the new behavior.
  • What happens in the calculation if the note does not go in.
  • What the note requires of the system: package, version and earlier notes.
  • The distance between the note and the customer's customizations.
  • The point in the month and in the year where production is.

What the decision records

  • The triage category and who set it.
  • The alternative chosen and the reason.
  • The owner and the date of the decision.
  • The planned window and the review date, when the note is postponed or waived.
  • The customer's person who accepts the residual risk.
When to apply

The date of the note comes from the tax authority, the window comes from the operations calendar

Two dates decide when the note goes in: the one the law imposes and the one operations can tolerate. The first is fixed, the second is planned.

Legal date

If the note delivers behavior that is mandatory from a date, that date is the final deadline, and testing has to fit before it. The calendar is on the tax reform legislation page.

Close

Avoid the days of tax and accounting close, of tax assessment and of file submission. A note applied in the middle of the assessment mixes two behaviors in the same period.

Year-end

Rate, layout and table change at the turn of the year. A note that touches those rules needs testing before the change freeze many companies adopt at year-end.

Invoicing peak

Campaigns, harvests and peak dates call for a window outside the peak, so that a rollback is possible without stopping invoicing.

The window is a shared calendar. Tax marks the sensitive periods, IT marks the technical windows, and the free overlap becomes the application schedule.

With the schedule ready, the question on decision day stops being when it fits and becomes which window suits this note.

Dependency order

Note by note, in the right order

The reform notes depend on one another. The order is not the implementer's choice: it comes from the dependencies.

01

Import the XML

The file attached to the lead note goes into the Note Analyzer, which organizes the notes in the set.

02

Read the order

The implementation order appears in the comments column after the XML is imported.

03

Check prerequisites

Support package, component version and earlier notes the note requires, system by system.

04

Implement completely

One note at a time, to the end, including the manual activities it asks for.

05

Only then the next one

No note moves ahead of another that was left incomplete.

06

Record the checkpoint

The status of each note and what is missing stay in the record, so work can resume without losing the order.

The XML is updated often, so the order is reimported at each round of application.

SAP's warning

Moving on to the next notes while earlier notes are half implemented leaves the system corrupted and forces the work to be redone. Each note must be implemented correctly and completely.

The Note Assistant

What the SAP tool does and what remains human work

The tool reduces execution errors, but decides nothing. Separating what it does from what stays with the team avoids the illusion that an applied note is an assessed note.

The tool does

  • Finds and downloads the notes valid for the system.
  • Implements the correction instructions automatically.
  • Recognizes dependencies on other notes, on Support Packages and on modifications already made.
  • Records the steps and shows the status of each note.
  • Identifies what already arrived through a Support Package or a version update.

The team still does

  • Decide whether the note has a tax effect and whether it goes in.
  • Choose the system, the window and the transport sequence.
  • Carry out the manual activities the note asks for.
  • Test the tax effect and approve the result.
  • File the evidence in the note record.

The Note Assistant, transaction SNOTE, is SAP's standard tool for this task. Its work list separates the notes assigned to the user, the inconsistent ones and the new ones not yet processed.

Digitally signed notes can only be downloaded and uploaded with SNOTE enabled for that, and the steps are gathered in note 2836302. The enhanced version of the tool requires SAP_BASIS 7.40 SP02 or note 3051466.

Systems

Four systems, one sequence

The note goes through the systems in the order of the customer's other changes and only moves on with the approval of the previous system.

SystemWhat is doneWho approvesEvidence
Sandbox or test copyReading the note, trial implementation, discovery of prerequisites and collisionsITList of prerequisites and of colliding objects
DevelopmentOfficial implementation, adjustments to custom code, transport requestIT and developmentNote status, request number and log
QualityTax regression with data that keeps what determines the taxTaxCase, expected result, actual result and approval
ProductionImport through the transport route, in the window, with a rollback planTax and ITImported request, date and time, and later check

The DFSpro process implements the note in development and moves the same request through the transport route. Implementing straight in production breaks the sequence and removes the proof that the test looked at the same code that will run.

Quality only works as proof with data that keeps what determines the tax, such as NCM, state, tax regime and partner profile. The method is in tax tests and validation.

Transport sequence

Six rules so the note does not reach production out of order

Transport is where the dependency order is most easily lost. These rules protect the sequence.

01

One request per closed set

A request that mixes reform notes with other changes prevents an individual rollback.

02

Same sequence in every system

If note B depends on A, the request for A is imported first in each system, without exception.

03

Import only after the signed test

Production receives what quality approved, nothing more.

04

Freeze the queue in the window

While the reform notes are being imported, no other request enters the same queue.

05

Check after importing

Confirm that the request arrived complete and check the note status in the target system.

06

Rollback ready

The way back to the previous state is defined before the import, not after the problem.

Import day

Before, during and after the import in production

Import day is short and leaves little margin. That is why every step is written down beforehand and has an owner.

Before

  • Test signed by tax and record complete.
  • Rollback plan confirmed with IT.
  • Window communicated to invoicing operations.
  • Transport queue frozen and on-call defined.

During

  • Import in the sequence defined in the record.
  • Monitoring of the import log.
  • No change outside the plan.
  • Decision to continue or roll back made by whoever has the authority.

After

  • Check of the request and of the status in the target.
  • Check of the critical cases in production.
  • Monitoring of the first real invoices.
  • End time and result recorded in the record.

The note is only considered complete after tax follows the first real invoices and confirms that the result matches the expected one.

Custom code

Where the note meets what the customer has already changed

When the tax system has custom code around the calculation, the standard note can collide with it, and the collision does not show up in a screen test.

01

Z programs and includes

Copies of standard programs that the note also changes become outdated and start to ignore the fix.

02

Exits and BAdIs

Extension points of the calculation and of the document whose signature or execution moment the note may change.

03

Custom fields and tables

Customer field that feeds the calculation and starts to compete with the new field the note brings.

04

Reports and interfaces

Reports and integrations that read the tax result in a format the note may change.

Before applying, IT lists the custom objects and the extension points in the stretch the note touches, and tax says which business rule each one carries. A collision found becomes a decision item, not a silent adjustment.

The less custom code in the calculation, the smaller the collision, and that is the argument for tax Clean Core. The design and review of the code that stays are in ABAP and tax customization.

Before applying

Take a snapshot of tax behavior before the note

Without a snapshot of the before, the after proves nothing. The baseline is built in quality, before the note goes in.

  • One reference document per operation, with the tax of each tax type.
  • The calculation result for the critical cases, with base, rate and tax status.
  • The XML generated in the most used electronic document types.
  • The tax assessment report for a closed period, for comparison.
  • Date, and the version of the note and of the component at which the snapshot was taken.
  • The author of the snapshot and the tax person who accepts the values as correct.

The snapshot does not need to be large. It covers the cases the note may touch, chosen in triage, and reuses the scenario matrix the company already uses in tax testing.

When the note brings a new field, such as the IBS and CBS ones, the snapshot records that the field was empty before. The expected effect includes the field coming to exist.

Tax regression

What to run after the note, by category

The note regression is smaller than a project test. It runs only what the triage category may have changed and compares it with the snapshot.

CategoryMinimum casesComparison
A. Calculation and determinationOne case per operation and per classification rule the note touches, plus edge casesTax by tax type, base, rate and tax status, against the snapshot and against the new expected result
B. Electronic documentIssuance and authorization return of the affected document types, plus one eventXML against the current layout, rejections and return status
C. Tax assessment and obligationsClose of a test period and generation of the fileAssessment and file against the reference period
D. No direct tax effectExecution of the technical processes tied to the componentExecution without error and a check that the tax result did not change

Scenario matrix, data sets and test levels have their own page: tax tests and validation. For the note, only the slice the category asks for applies.

The regression runs in quality, with the note already implemented in the correct order, and ends with the tax signature.

Expected effect

Write the expected effect before the test

A reform note changes the result on purpose. So the test does not look for any difference: it looks for the right difference.

Expected difference

  • New field filled in the document or in the master data.
  • New tax calculated in the operation.
  • New layout in the XML, with the groups the rule asks for.
  • New row or new column in a tax assessment report.

Unexpected difference

  • Value of an existing tax that changed for no reason.
  • New rejection in the authorization of the document.
  • Report that no longer reconciles with accounting.
  • Document that stopped being issued or booked.

The expected effect is written by tax before the implementation, with the rule that supports it. The CST and cClassTrib table is the starting point of the expected result for classification.

Comparing the after with the expected result and with the snapshot gives three outcomes: it matches, justified difference, or unexplained difference. The first two pass. The third goes back to IT and to tax.

Proof of application

Six records that prove the note went in

Applied is what the system shows, not what the team remembers. Proof of application is technical and comes from the system itself.

Note status

The implementation state shown by the Note Assistant in the system, with the screenshot or the report.

Implementation log

The record of the steps the tool processed, with user, date and time.

Transport request

Request number, source system, import sequence and import return in each target.

Component version

Support package and level of the localization component, before and after.

Manual activities

Each manual activity the note required, with who did it, when and the result.

Dependencies

List of earlier notes and whether they were complete, following the Note Analyzer order.

The set is attached to the note record. Whoever audits can rebuild, from it alone, what changed, where, when and on whose order.

Proof of effect

What proves the calculation is still what the company decided

A correct application does not guarantee a correct effect. Proof of effect compares the result with what tax wrote beforehand.

Case

Operation, state, product, party profile and document, with the date of the rule the case checks.

Expected

Expected value and document, with the author and the rule that supports them.

Actual

System result after the note, with the test document number.

Approval

Tax signature, with date, and the conclusion: matches, justified or rejected.

Each rejected case opens an item with an owner and a deadline, and the note only moves on to production with all critical cases approved. Going ahead with a known difference is the customer's decision and is written down, with the reason.

In production, the first tax assessment after the note gets reinforced checking: tax compares the result with the previous period and records the explained differences.

Owners

Who decides, who executes and who signs

Each step of the process has a role that decides, one that executes and one that signs. When the same role does all three, the proof loses value.

RoleDecidesExecutesSigns
Tax and financeWhether the note touches tax, the expected effect and the positionTriage, writing the expected result and acceptance testApproval of the effect

Controllership and accountingClose window and reconciliationAssessment and close testAcceptance of the assessment
Internal auditNothing about the noteSample review of the recordOpinion, when there is one
Change managementCalendar and priority between notesSchedule, decision meeting and recordMeeting minutes

The owner of the list of notes is a named person, with a deputy. The decision meeting is short and periodic, and tax and IT sit at the same table.

Record

The note record: eight fields that stay in the customer's system

The record is a single entry per note, kept where the customer already controls changes. A loose file does not serve as proof.

Identification

Number, public title, publication date and component.

Triage

Category, questions answered, date and author.

Decision

Apply, postpone or do not apply, with reason and owner.

Window

System, planned date and actual date.

Dependencies

Earlier notes, package, version and manual activities.

Tests

Snapshot, cases, expected and actual.

Evidence

Status, log, transport request and screenshots.

Closure

Tax approval, rollback if there was one, and review date.

Where the customer already uses a change management system, the record becomes a form in it, with the same fields. The audit question of who assessed the note and why is answered by opening the record.

The retention period is defined by the customer's legal and tax teams.

Rollback

The rollback plan comes before the import

Not every note rolls back easily. That is why the way back is defined beforehand, and so is the criterion for going back.

01

Rollback point

What will be used to go back, such as a rollback request or a copy of the system, according to IT practice. The choice goes in the record.

02

Stop criterion

The signals that make tax and IT go back: mass rejection, a value outside the expected range, a tax assessment that does not close.

03

Communication

Who warns whom, on which channel, and how invoicing operations work while the rollback happens.

Rollback needs an owner with the power to trigger it. It also has a clock: tax documents already authorized follow their own cancellation and correction rules, and the plan takes that into account.

Process failures

Eight failures that turn a note into a tax problem

Eight patterns repeat when the process fails, and each has an answer in the process.

FailureWhat happensWhat the process does
Applying in bulk without triageThe tax note goes out in the same queue as the security ones and nobody in tax sees it.Every note goes through triage before entering the application queue.
Waiting for year-endNotes pile up and go in together, with no test per note.Regular window and a schedule per note, with tax marking the sensitive periods.
Note out of orderA new note on top of an incomplete earlier one leaves the system inconsistent. The Note Analyzer order is redone and checked in each system.
Technical-only testThe screen opens and the job runs, but nobody compares the tax.Regression that compares tax, document and assessment.
Expected result copied from the systemThe test agrees with the error, because the expected value came from the calculation itself.Expected result written by tax beforehand, with the rule next to it.
Custom code forgottenThe Z program ignores the fix, and the applied note does not change the result.Survey of the custom objects at the point the note touches.
List with no ownerThe list of notes belongs to everyone and therefore to no one.Named owner, with a deputy.
Record only in the logThe log shows the application, but does not show who assessed the effect.Record with decision, test and tax signature.
Indicators

Six signs that the process is working

A process only improves when someone measures it. These six signs fit on one monthly tracking page.

Notes triaged

Share of the published notes that went through triage in the cycle. The target is set by the customer.

Decision time

Interval between the publication of a note with a tax effect and the recorded decision.

Complete records

Applied notes with a filled-in record and attached evidence.

Notes out of order

Cases of a note implemented before the earlier one. The target is zero.

Rollbacks

Imports that needed a rollback and the cause of each.

Unexplained differences

Regression cases closed as an unexplained difference, per cycle.

The indicators feed the monthly management conversation. Targets and limits are set by the customer, and no value should be copied from another system.

GUEPARDO Tax

When the tax calculation runs in GUEPARDO Tax

The GUEPARDO Tax license belongs to NTT DATA, and DFSpro sells it as an Authorized Channel, in addition to implementing and governing the product.

What changes

The product deliveries, published by NTT DATA, can also change calculation and document. They go into the list as items of the same process, with triage, window, regression and record.

What stays the same

The decision to apply, the system and the sequence, the test and the proof. SAP notes and product deliveries may depend on each other, and the order takes both into account.

Whoever uses GUEPARDO Tax in part of the operations and the standard SAP calculation in others keeps a single list, with the origin of each item.

How DFSpro works

The four fronts of the work with the notes

DFSpro structures the process and runs it alongside the customer's team. For those who do not yet know what is already in the system, the way in is the SAP Tax Diagnostic.

01

Process design

Roles, channels, triage categories, decision criteria and record, in the format the customer already uses.

02

Snapshot and regression

Cases per category, a snapshot before the note and a comparison after, with the customer's tax team signing.

03

Collision with custom code

Survey of the exits, BAdIs and Z programs at the point of the note and, when the customer decides to adjust, the ABAP adjustment.

04

Continuous operation

Monthly routine of reading, triage and recording, within the AMS Fiscal Continuous Governance.

Limit of our role

Who decides each note and what DFSpro delivers to the customer

The decision on each note belongs to the customer. DFSpro delivers the process design, the configuration of what the system allows and the proof of how it behaves after the note.

It is the customer's decision

  • Whether a note with a tax effect goes in, when it goes in and whether it does not.
  • The expected effect and the tax position behind each rule.
  • The approval of the test and the acceptance of any known difference.
  • The production window and the business risk accepted.

DFSpro delivers

  • The design of the triage, decision, application and record process.
  • Support in configuring the transport route and the record, alongside the customer's IT.
  • The snapshot and the regression of tax behavior, with evidence.
  • The ABAP development of what the customer decides to adjust.
Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about SAP Notes for the tax reform

01What does DFSpro do in tracking the reform SAP Notes?+

DFSpro designs the process that links monitoring, tax triage, decision, transport, testing and recording. It prepares the snapshot of behavior before the note, runs the regression afterward and organizes the evidence of the application and of the effect. The tax decision remains the customer's.

02Does DFSpro implement the notes in my SAP?+

Whoever implements is the team authorized to change the system, usually IT or the integrator, and that is stated in the agreed scope. Whoever the executor is, DFSpro designs, tests and proves, and works with the customer's IT or with the integrator.

03We already have an integrator and a Basis team. Why do we need this?+

Because assessing system risk and assessing the effect on tax are different skills. IT knows whether the note breaks an integration. Knowing whether it changes a tax calculation requires knowledge of the tax operation, and the process puts that reading before the application.

04Does every SAP Note have to go through tax?+

No. Triage sorts the notes into four categories. Those on calculation, electronic document and tax assessment go to the tax team. Those with no tax effect follow the normal technical process, with the triage recorded, and what reaches tax is limited to what actually touches tax.

05Where does tracking the reform notes start?+

With the reform lead note, which lists the deliveries and carries the XML file for the Note Analyzer, which shows the implementation order. SAP updates the list, so the routine includes rereading the lead note at each update.

06What if a reform note arrives close to the legal date?+

Triage flags the note as priority, the schedule opens the first possible window and testing has to fit before the date. In that case the regression is reduced to the critical cases of the category, with the rollback plan ready. Taking that risk is the customer's decision.

07Can we apply straight in production to save time?+

It is not the path we recommend. Without quality there is no proof that the test looked at the same code that runs in production, and the note is left without evidence of effect. When there is legal urgency, the process provides an accelerated window, never dropping the test and the record.

08How do we prove to an audit that the note was applied and what the effect was?+

Through the note record. It gathers the Note Assistant status and log, the transport request, the component version and the manual activities, plus the cases with expected result, actual result and tax approval. With that set the auditor rebuilds what changed, where, when and on whose decision.

09What does the customer need ready to start tracking?+

The list of notes applied so far, which the Note Assistant provides, the version and package of the tax components, the names of who decides and who executes, the close calendar and, if one exists, the test scenario matrix. Whatever is missing is built at the start.

10What if a note collides with one of our programs?+

The collision becomes a decision item, not a silent adjustment. The customer chooses between adjusting the custom code, postponing the note or waiving it, with a record. DFSpro surveys the affected extension points, designs the adjustment and, when the customer decides to adjust, develops it in ABAP.

11Does this also apply to GUEPARDO Tax?+

Yes. GUEPARDO Tax deliveries, published by NTT DATA, can also change calculation and document and go into the same list, with triage, window, regression and record. When SAP notes and product deliveries depend on each other, the order takes both into account.

12Does the process apply to notes that are not about the reform?+

Yes. The filter is the tax effect of the note, not the subject. Calculation fixes, layout updates and notes on earlier legislation go through the same four categories. The reform is the case where the process weighs most, because the notes touch calculation, document and tax assessment at the same time.

13How does this tracking fit into AMS Fiscal?+

The periodic reading, the triage and the record become routine of AMS Fiscal Continuous Governance, with a decision meeting between tax and IT. The scope, the channels and the frequency are agreed in the first conversation, according to the system and to what the customer already has in change management.

14How long does it take to set up this process?+

The timeline and the scope depend on the system, on the number of tax components and on what the customer already has in change management. The first conversation measures that. Nothing is estimated before we know the system, and price and timeline go in a separate proposal.

Next steps

Start with the list of notes that tax has not read yet

The first step is to survey what was already applied, in what order and without tax assessment.
