GUEPARDO Analytics: what NTT DATA describes and how to assess it before you buy
A tax dashboard is only worth it if its numbers match the tax calculation and someone answers for them. See what NTT DATA says about the product, the questions to take to them, and the test that proves the dashboard against SAP.
NTT DATA owns GUEPARDO Analytics, and DFSpro is an Authorized Channel for GUEPARDO. Your company decides the tax position.
Start with the question for your role
Four entry points to the same decision: each role starts from a different question about the dashboard.

GUEPARDO Analytics is NTT DATA's solution for organizing company data into BI dashboards and predictive analysis, built on SAP Analytics Cloud. What it actually shows depends on data, definitions and an owner, and you ask about these before you buy.
What NTT DATA states
It brings together data from SAP components and from cloud and on-premises sources, monitors performance, produces predictive analysis and offers information packages by segment.
What the public description does not include
List of indicators, predictive models, input data, load frequency.
How to decide
Take the questions to NTT DATA, set an owner for each indicator and prove the dashboard against the tax calculation of a closed period.
For the tax calculation itself, see what GUEPARDO Tax is.
Five promises that NTT DATA links to Analytics
What NTT DATA says about the product, in five points.
Centralization
According to NTT DATA, a single platform that joins Business Intelligence technology and practices to give strategic views of company data.
Security
NTT DATA states that data is protected in line with the main privacy and security regulations. Which regulations and which controls, the description does not say.
Insights
Monitor business performance, produce data-based predictive analysis and project action plans, in NTT DATA's words.
Integration
Bring the mass of data from SAP components into one cloud solution. NTT DATA says the product integrates all GUEPARDO modules and reads cloud and on-premises sources.
Adaptability
Pre-built packages of strategic information by segment and industry.
NTT DATA sums up the idea like this: structured data is an asset for decisions, and the product organizes what the company already has, projects scenarios and tracks processes.
Five functions, and the question each one opens
Each function described by NTT DATA has a practical meaning for the tax team and a question that the public description leaves open.
| What NTT DATA lists | What it usually means for the tax team | The question that remains |
|---|---|---|
| Organizing the mass of data | Bring scattered data into one place, with a common standard. It is the least visible part and the one that weighs most on dashboard quality. | Which sources go in, and who fixes the source data when it is wrong? |
| Support for management and operational decisions | The same data serves executives, who want a consolidated view, and operations, who want document detail. | Does the dashboard drill down from the total to the document, or does it stop at the summary? |
| Strategic BI dashboards | Up-to-date dashboards for tracking. The word "up-to-date" calls for a frequency: daily, per close or on demand. | What is the load frequency and who approves the cut-off date? |
| Data-based predictive analysis | A projection built from history. Without knowing what is projected and how the error is measured, it is a promise and not a feature. | What exactly is predicted, over what horizon and with what measured error? |
| Performance monitoring | Track indicators over time. An indicator with no written definition turns into a debate at every meeting. | Which indicators come ready and which does the company define? |
A SAP platform, an NTT DATA solution, and two accounts
Knowing where one ends and the other begins avoids surprises in licensing and responsibility.
What NTT DATA says
GUEPARDO Analytics was built with SAP Analytics Cloud technology, on SAP's cloud environment, with an intuitive interface and dashboards described as simple and complete.
What SAP says about SAP Analytics Cloud
For SAP, the SAP Analytics Cloud is a cloud solution for business intelligence, enterprise planning and predictive analysis, with machine learning and artificial intelligence features in one product.
The difference matters when you contract. SAP Analytics Cloud is a SAP platform. GUEPARDO Analytics is an NTT DATA solution built with it. Whether the right to use the platform is included in the product or contracted separately, the public description does not say: ask in writing.
Analytics among Tax, e-Invoicing and data automation
GUEPARDO products connect, and each one has a different role in the same tax flow.
| NTT DATA product | What NTT DATA describes | Relationship with Analytics |
|---|---|---|
| GUEPARDO Tax | Management of tax obligations on a single database for tax calculations and compliance, with its own dashboards for tax calculation, files, payment slips, credits and the tax calendar. | It is one of the modules that, according to NTT DATA, Analytics integrates. |
| GUEPARDO e-Invoicing | Issuing and receiving NF-e, NFS-e and CT-e, with document capture and PDF reading. | NTT DATA says Analytics integrates all GUEPARDO modules. How it connects to e-Invoicing, the description does not detail. |
| GUEPARDO Process Automation | Automation of repetitive tasks and unification of databases. | NTT DATA says it is integrated with Tax, e-Invoicing, Analytics and Payments. |
| GUEPARDO Analytics | BI and predictive analysis on data from SAP components and from cloud and on-premises sources. | It is the analysis layer, not the tax calculation or the invoice issuing layer. |
The full list of products is in the NTT DATA portfolio. When the topic is tax calculation, the main page is tax calculation in SAP.
Is the Tax dashboard enough, or does Analytics bring something new?
This is the natural doubt of someone who already uses the tax calculation product, and you answer it by comparing questions, not product names.
What Tax already shows
According to NTT DATA, GUEPARDO Tax has dashboards on tax calculation, file generation, payment slip administration, credit control and the tax calendar.
What Analytics adds
From NTT DATA's description: BI views on the combined data, predictive analysis and packages by segment.
Where they overlap
Both talk about dashboards. Before you buy, ask for the list of screens and indicators of each, side by side.
How to decide
List the ten questions your company asks the tax team every month. If Tax answers them, Analytics has to justify what it adds beyond that.
Eight topics that NTT DATA does not yet detail in public
A buyer needs these answers in writing before deciding.
| Topic | What the public description includes | What your company needs to know |
|---|---|---|
| Indicators | It talks about monitoring business performance, without listing indicators. | Which tax indicators come ready, with definition, formula and source. |
| Predictive models | It talks about predictive analysis and action plans, without saying what is predicted. | What is predicted, with what data, over what horizon and with what measured error. |
| Input data | It mentions data from SAP components and from cloud and on-premises sources. | Which tables and modules feed the dashboard and in what format they arrive. |
| Load frequency | It talks about up-to-date information. | Refresh interval, load window and what happens when a load fails. |
| SAC licensing | It says it uses SAP Analytics Cloud. | Whether the platform license is included or contracted separately, and who is the contracting party. |
| Use without Tax | It says it integrates all GUEPARDO modules. | Whether Analytics works without GUEPARDO Tax and what changes in that case. |
| Implementation | It describes the product, not the project. | Stages, timeline, who does what and what the customer must deliver. |
| Security | It mentions the main privacy and security regulations. | Which regulations, which access controls and which audit trail exist. |
Sixteen questions, in four groups, before you sign
Objective questions that NTT DATA can answer and that the buyer can check afterwards.

Eight sets of data that a tax dashboard needs to receive
The better the source data, the more reliable the dashboard. The dashboard does not fix what arrives wrong: it only shows it.
Tax calculation by tax
Tax base, rate, calculated amount, credits and balances for each tax and each period. It is the data the tax team asks the dashboard for most.
Tax documents
Inbound and outbound invoices with the status of each. A canceled or denied document changes the total and needs a clear rule.
Filed reports
What was sent to the tax authority in each obligation, with receipt. It is the final reference for what the company declared.
Setup
The rules that define the tax of each operation. Without them the dashboard shows the result and does not explain the cause. See tax setup in SAP.
Master data
Material, partner and tax classification records. Bad data shows up on the dashboard as if it were a calculation error. See tax master data.
Accounting
Ledger balances and entries, to compare tax with accounting. The comparison itself is in tax and accounting reconciliation.
Calendar and obligations
Deadlines and owners, when the dashboard tracks compliance and not only the amount.
External sources
Cloud and on-premises sources, which NTT DATA says it supports. Each new source needs an owner, a format and an update rule.
Six steps to prove that the dashboard number matches the tax calculation
The proof uses periods that are already closed and a comparison rule written before looking at the result.
- 01
Choose a closed period
A month whose tax calculation was filed and checked. An open period changes while you measure, and the comparison loses its meaning.
- 02
Fix the source and the cut-off date
Write down where each dashboard number comes from and which period it covers. Both sides of the comparison must use the same rule.
- 03
Recalculate from the SAP tax calculation
Get the same value directly from the tax calculation, by the path the tax team recognizes, without going through the dashboard.
- 04
Compare number by number
Total, then tax, then establishment, then document. You locate the difference by going down one level at a time.
- 05
Classify each difference
Cut-off rule, rejected data, manual adjustment or calculation error. Each gets a cause and an owner.
- 06
Keep the evidence
Period, values, differences and explanation are kept with a date. The auditor asks months later.
The tax calculation that serves as reference is in tax calculation in SAP.
Which indicators to measure, with owner, limit and action, is in tax dashboards in SAP.
Six practices that make the dashboard number reliable
Governance is what separates a dashboard the company uses from one that sits idle.
Indicator owner
One named person defines the indicator, approves changes and answers for the number. Without an owner, each area calculates its own.
Written definition
Formula, filters, cut-off date and source, in text. The same words, such as "tax burden", change meaning from one area to another.
Version and history
Every change of definition is recorded, with date and reason, so that today's number can be compared with earlier ones.
Data quality
Validation rules at input and who handles the exception. Data rejected without notice is one of the first causes to investigate when the dashboard does not match.
Access and retention
Who sees, who exports and how long the data is kept, according to company policy.
Review routine
A regular review of the indicators: what is still useful, what changed in the rules and what can go.
What the company defines, the tool does not define for it. A dashboard with clear definitions can be audited. A dashboard without them only reflects the opinion of whoever built it.
Six access decisions the company makes before opening the dashboard
NTT DATA states that it protects data in line with the main regulations. The design of access inside the company remains the company's decision.
Profile by role
Tax, controllership, IT and executives see different things. Define the profiles before the load, not after the first incident.
Separation by company and branch
A user from one unit should not see another unit's data without need. The rule comes from the corporate structure and not from the tool.
Personal data in documents
A tax document carries the name and ID of an individual. Decide whether the dashboard shows this and who has the right to see it.
Export
A protected dashboard stops protecting when anyone exports everything to a spreadsheet. Control who exports and keep a record.
Access trail
Who looked at what and when, kept for as long as company policy requires.
Location and retention
Where the data is hosted and for how long. NTT DATA talks about the cloud, and the contract terms say the rest.
Eight business questions and the data each one needs
Starting from the question avoids the mistake of building a dashboard with the data at hand and not the data that matters.
| Company question | What must exist in the data |
|---|---|
| How much of each tax did we calculate in the period and how does it compare with the previous one? | Tax calculation by tax and period, with the same period rule on both sides. |
| How much credit was used and how much was left accumulated? | Credits by source and period, with opening balance, movement and closing balance. |
| What is the difference between what we calculated and what we filed? | Tax calculation and filed reports, comparable by period and by establishment. |
| Which documents are outside the normal flow? | Document status, pending events and canceled or denied documents. |
| Which obligations are due and who answers for them? | Calendar with owner, delivery status and receipt. |
| Where does the setup change the result? | Rule applied by operation, with effective date and rule owner. |
| What changed in the tax after a rule change? | Configuration history with date, to separate the effect of the rule from the effect of volume. |
| Where do we stand against the tax reform period? | Documents and records with the new fields, and the transition rule chosen by the company. |
These are questions your company may want to answer, not a list of what the product delivers. What GUEPARDO Analytics brings ready is with NTT DATA, and the rest is the company's definition and configuration.
What the dashboard shows and what remains a decision
Keeping the two apart protects the company: the number informs, and responsibility for the decision stays with whoever makes it.
The dashboard shows
- Calculated amounts, balances and comparisons between periods.
- Projections calculated with the company's data.
- Pending items and obligation deadlines.
- Differences between sources.
The company decides
- Which reading of the rule applies and which tax position to follow.
- Whether a difference is acceptable or requires a correction filing.
- What to do with a forecast: plan, ignore or investigate.
- Who accesses the data and for how long it is kept.
A well-built dashboard cuts the time to find the right question. The tax answer stays with whoever answers to the tax authority.
Eight causes to investigate when dashboard and tax calculation differ
Most differences have a simple cause and sit in the cut-off rule, the load or the document status.
| Likely cause | How to investigate |
|---|---|
| Different cut-off date | Compare the period used in the dashboard and in the tax calculation. A document posted after the close shows up on one side and not on the other. |
| Canceled or denied document | List the documents with a status other than authorized and check that the dashboard excludes them the same way the tax calculation does. |
| Incomplete or late load | Check the date and result of the last load, and whether any record was rejected. |
| Manual adjustment in the tax calculation | Look for manual entries, reversals and adjustments that the dashboard may not receive. |
| Grouping rule | Check whether the dashboard adds up by establishment, by company or by root CNPJ, and how the tax calculation groups. |
| Master data changed | See whether the record changed between the calculation and the load, and whether the dashboard keeps the value from back then or the current one. |
| Rule change in the period | Separate the effect of the new rule from the effect of volume. The comparison uses the rule in force on each date. |
| Currency or rounding | Confirm the decimal places and the moment of rounding on both sides. |
These are hypotheses to investigate, in order of cost. None is accepted without reproducing the difference: an explanation without proof becomes a pending item with an owner and a deadline.
Six questions to tell a helpful forecast from an empty promise
A forecast is useful when it has a defined target, a measured error and an owner. Without these three, it is a nice-looking number.
What is predicted
Tax for the month, document volume, credit balance? Each target has different data and error, and the product must say which one it predicts.
With what history
How many periods of data the model requires and what happens when the company changed rules or operations in the middle of it.
Over what horizon
One month ahead and one year ahead are different problems, with different confidence.
With what measured error
Ask for the model's results in past periods, compared with what actually happened. Without that, the forecast is opinion.
Who tunes it
A model ages as rules and the business change. Someone must be responsible for reviewing it.
Which decision it supports
A forecast supports cash and workload planning. It never replaces the tax calculation or the reading of the rule.
NTT DATA talks about predictive analysis and projecting action plans. Which models exist and what results they deliver, NTT DATA does not say in public.
Six points to settle in writing before starting the project
A product description is not a contract. What matters goes into the scope, the support and the exit terms, in writing.
Product scope
The list of dashboards, indicators and models included, attached to the contract, and what is configuration charged separately.
Platform license
How many users the license covers, how long it lasts and what happens when you go over the limit.
Support and service
Ticket channel, hours, response time and who answers for a load or dashboard failure.
Ownership of configurations
Who owns the dashboards, definitions and models created during the project, and what the company takes with it if it leaves.
Exit and portability
How the company recovers history and definitions when the contract ends, in what format and within what time.
Data protection
Where the data is, who has access at NTT DATA, which subcontractors take part and how incidents are reported.
Seven scenarios to test the dashboard with your company's data
A demo with sample data shows the tool. Only your company's data shows whether it fits.
| Test scenario | What to observe | Acceptance criterion |
|---|---|---|
| Total of one tax in a closed period | Whether the dashboard shows the same value as the filed tax calculation. | Zero difference, or a difference explained and accepted before measuring. |
| One establishment with many operations | Whether the grouping by establishment and the company total add up to each other. | Sum of establishments equals the total, with no remainder. |
| A document canceled after the close | How the dashboard handles a document whose status changed after the load. | Same treatment as the tax calculation, with a written rule. |
| A manual adjustment in the tax calculation | Whether the adjustment appears on the dashboard and with what identification. | The adjustment is visible and traceable to who made it. |
| A load that fails | The alert sent, the record of the problem and how it is reprocessed. | Failure with an alert and reprocessing without duplicating data. |
| A user with a restricted profile | What the user sees and what the user can export. | Only what the profile allows, with a record of the query. |
| A new question from the executives | The time and effort to answer with an indicator that did not exist before. | Answer within the agreed time, with the indicator sheet filled in. |
A proof of concept is worth it when the scenarios and acceptance criteria are written beforehand. Without that, the test shows what the vendor chose to show and not what the company needs.

Frequently asked questions about GUEPARDO Analytics
01Is GUEPARDO Analytics the same as SAP Analytics Cloud?+
No. SAP Analytics Cloud is the SAP platform. GUEPARDO Analytics is the NTT DATA solution, which says it was built with that technology. Which platform features the product uses, ask NTT DATA in writing.
02Do I have to contract SAP Analytics Cloud separately?+
The public description does not answer this. Ask NTT DATA whether the platform license is included in the product, who the contracting party is and what changes in cost when the company builds its own dashboards. Record the answer in writing.
03What data feeds GUEPARDO Analytics?+
NTT DATA talks about data from SAP components and from cloud and on-premises sources, and says the product integrates all GUEPARDO modules. Which tables, how often and in what format, the public description does not detail.
04Does GUEPARDO Analytics work without GUEPARDO Tax?+
The description says it integrates all GUEPARDO modules and reads data from SAP components. Whether it works without Tax, and with what scope, is a question for NTT DATA before the buying decision.
05Which tax indicators come ready?+
NTT DATA does not list indicators in the public description. Ask for the list of dashboards and indicators, with the definition, formula and source of each, and compare it with the questions your tax team asks every month.
06What is the product's predictive analysis?+
NTT DATA talks about data-based predictive analysis and about projecting action plans. What is predicted, with what data, over what horizon and with what measured error, the description does not say. Ask for results from past periods.
07Does the dashboard replace checking the tax calculation?+
No. The dashboard shows numbers, and the check proves they match the tax calculation. Compare against a closed period, explain each difference and keep the evidence before using the dashboard for decisions.
08What should I do when the dashboard number differs from the tax calculation?+
Compare the cut-off date, the document status, the last load, the manual adjustments and the grouping rule, in that order. A difference with no reproduced cause becomes a pending item with an owner and a deadline.
09Who should own the indicators?+
One person per indicator, usually from the area that answers most for the number: tax for tax calculation, controllership for the comparison with the ledger. The owner defines, approves changes and answers when the number is questioned.
10How do I protect the data in a tax dashboard?+
Define profiles by role, separate access by company and branch, decide who exports and keep the query trail. NTT DATA states that it protects data in line with regulations, and the design of internal access is the company's decision.
11I already have GUEPARDO Tax. Do I need Analytics?+
It depends on the questions. Tax has its own dashboards for tax calculation, files, payment slips, credits and the calendar. List the questions the tax team and the executives ask and check which ones Tax already answers. Analytics has to justify what it adds beyond that.
12How do I contract GUEPARDO Analytics?+
DFSpro is an Authorized Channel of NTT DATA, and the conversation starts with your environment and the questions the dashboard must answer. Product terms, timelines and scope are set with NTT DATA.
13Does DFSpro decide what the dashboard shows?+
No. Which indicators exist, the reading of the rule and the tax position are your company's decisions. Product terms belong to NTT DATA, and the choice of indicators and the decision made with them belong to the company.
