GUEPARDO e-Invoicing: what it is, what NTT DATA publishes and what stays in your SAP
GUEPARDO e-Invoicing is the NTT DATA product for issuing and receiving electronic invoices. Here are the product functions according to NTT DATA, each with its source and reading date, the path of the tax document and the doubts of whoever is assessing the purchase.
The product belongs to NTT DATA, and DFSpro offers it as an Authorized Channel. Buying, and deciding any tax matter, is up to your company.

According to NTT DATA, GUEPARDO e-Invoicing issues and receives NF-e, NFS-e and CT-e and exchanges these documents with SEFAZ, city governments and the Federal Revenue Service.
What it is
An NTT DATA product, described by NTT DATA as software as a service integrated with the customer's infrastructure, with five ways to bring in documents and periodic capture from SEFAZ and city governments.
What it is not
It is not SAP DRC, which belongs to SAP, nor GUEPARDO Tax, which handles obligations. No transmission product decides CFOP, CST or your company's tax position.
Where DFSpro comes in
DFSpro acts as an Authorized Channel for GUEPARDO, with license, implementation and governance. In SAP, it designs, configures and proves the tax layer of electronic documents.
The product, in NTT DATA's words, in ten points
What NTT DATA says about its own product, in ten points, with the date of the reading just below.
| Topic | What NTT DATA publishes |
|---|---|
| Function | Issuing and receiving electronic invoices, with document exchange between the company and government services: SEFAZ, city governments and the Federal Revenue Service. |
| Documents | NF-e, NFS-e and CT-e. |
| Document input | Five channels: Webservice, email, API, portal and manual entry, for electronic or non-electronic documents. NTT DATA calls this omnichannel. |
| Capture | Automatic periodic capture of documents from SEFAZ and city governments, with bulk and centralized download. |
| PDF reading | PDF interpretation based on machine learning. |
| Delivery model | Software as a service, hosted on the AWS cloud, integrated with the customer's infrastructure, in the cloud or on-premises. |
| Obligations | Integration with SEFAZ and SPED and automation of processes such as EFD-Reinf. |
| Predictability | Tax simulation and automation of document processing. |
| Value points | NTT DATA highlights governance, ease of implementation and of cloud updates, elasticity, lower development and maintenance costs to meet tax authority requirements, and omnichannel input. |
| Technology | Component developed on SAP practices and systems, with an integration API for web or application. |
According to NTT DATA, from a visit on 16/10/2026 to the product pages and to the GUEPARDO products page. The NTT DATA text carries no publication date, and it may change.
The three documents NTT DATA mentions, and where each one has its method
Each document has an official rule and its own method in SAP, on the pages indicated in each card.
NF-e
Electronic invoice for goods. Before the goods move, the SEFAZ of the state of origin must authorize the document, according to SAP documentation (SAP Help, 16/10/2026). The services and rules are on the NF-e Portal. The topic in SAP is in electronic tax documents.
NFS-e
Service invoice. The official portal describes the national standard and mentions about 5,570 potential municipal laws, one per municipality (NFS-e Portal, 16/10/2026). The method in SAP is in national standard NFS-e and in NFS-e by municipality.
CT-e
Electronic freight transport document, used in cargo transport. NTT DATA lists CT-e among the product's documents. What SAP requires to issue and receive CT-e and MDF-e is in CT-e and MDF-e in SAP.
NTT DATA publishes the list of documents, not the list of municipalities or of events. Coverage by municipality and by event is a question for NTT DATA, with your case in hand.
Five input channels, one question for each channel
NTT DATA says the five channels apply to electronic or non-electronic documents. For each channel, the decision to use it and the control over it belong to the company.
| Input channel | What NTT DATA says | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Webservice | Mentioned as an input channel and as a way of periodic capture. | Who starts the call and how are failure and resend handled? |
| Mentioned as a document input channel. | Which formats and attachments are accepted, and who handles an email with no valid document? | |
| API | Mentioned as an integration API through web or software application. | What documentation does the API have, and who maintains it on the SAP side? |
| Portal | Mentioned as a document input channel. | Who has access, with what profile, and what is recorded for each access? |
| Manual entry | Mentioned as manual entry of invoices. | Who can enter by hand, and how is the entry checked afterwards? |
Omnichannel describes the variety of inputs, and does not guarantee that all five channels are in scope for your case. Confirm which channels you will use and which stay off for security reasons.
What NTT DATA states about the capture window, and four questions about it
The stated window is a starting point for the conversation, not a commitment on timing.
According to NTT DATA, the webservice captures documents every 1 hour from SEFAZ and every 10 minutes from city governments (visit on 16/10/2026). These are NTT DATA figures, not DFSpro measurements.
Is the window a default or a setting?
The frequency may be a product rule, a starting value or a commercial order of magnitude. Ask NTT DATA which.
Does it apply to every city government?
The figure may apply to all municipalities served or only to the integrated ones. Ask for the list.
What if SEFAZ or the city government goes down?
Ask how capture resumes, whether it recovers what was left behind and how it notifies SAP.
What about a document that arrives twice?
Periodic capture brings the same document more than once. Ask how the product avoids duplicate posting.
Capture frequency is a product characteristic. Obligation deadlines come from the rules, and your company still answers for them.
Machine learning on PDF: how to validate before you trust
every automatic reading needs a measure of accuracy and an owner for the error.
NTT DATA lists PDF interpretation by machine learning among the product functions (visit on 16/10/2026). Automatic reading is wrong in some proportion, and the company decides which proportion to accept.
- 01
Pick a real sample
PDFs from suppliers and service providers your company actually receives, including those with poor layout.
- 02
Define what counts as correct
The critical tax fields: CNPJ, amounts, taxes and dates. One wrong field may be enough to reject the document.
- 03
Measure with NTT DATA
Run the sample and record hits and errors by field, with date and owner.
- 04
Give the error an owner
Define who fixes the exception, in how much time and how the fix is recorded.
- 05
Keep the evidence
The measurement becomes acceptance evidence. The scenarios and the evidence follow the design of tax tests in SAP.
Software as a service and integration with SAP: what NTT DATA says and what to clarify
Delivery model and architecture go together. The company decides the architecture, with NTT DATA and IT.
NTT DATA describes the product as software as a service on the AWS cloud, with cloud-native availability and scale. The same page says it integrates with the customer's infrastructure, in the cloud or on-premises (visit on 16/10/2026).
Working hypothesis, not a statement: the service that communicates with the government sits in the product's cloud, and the customer's SAP stays wherever it is. NTT DATA confirms or corrects.
Who operates and who supports
Who answers for a service incident and what the product's support channel is. Also ask how NTT DATA announces maintenance and change.
Digital certificate
By the rules, the document is signed with the company's digital certificate. Ask where it is kept, who renews it and what happens when it expires.
Connection to SAP
Network, technical user, access profile and the point in SAP where the product delivers and receives data. The company's IT must design this.
Product updates
How NTT DATA gives notice before changing the product, and how your company tests the change before it takes effect in the production environment.
Four counterparts, and what each one publishes officially
The middle column is an official source. The right one is NTT DATA's description.
| Authority or system | What the authority publishes (official source read) | Function that NTT DATA links to the product |
|---|---|---|
| SEFAZ and NF-e | The NF-e Portal offers lookup, number voiding, recipient acknowledgment, availability lookup and a list of web services, and schedules the SVC-AN contingency (16/10/2026). | Issuing and receiving NF-e and capture from SEFAZ. |
| City governments and NFS-e | The NFS-e Portal describes the national standard. The National Data Environment is the repository where municipal authorizers share documents (15/10/2026). | Issuing and receiving NFS-e and capture from city governments. |
| Federal Revenue Service and EFD-Reinf | The EFD-Reinf manual 2.1.2.1 carries events such as R-2010 and R-2020, for social security contribution withholding on services received and provided (15/10/2026). | Automation of processes such as EFD-Reinf. |
| SPED | The SPED page at the Federal Revenue Service brings together the digital filings and the validation programs (16/10/2026). | Integration with SPED. |
Naming an authority does not define the extent of coverage. Which events, layouts and municipalities the product handles is a question for NTT DATA, asked with the list from your environment.
The ERP originates the document, messaging transmits it and the tax authority authorizes it
Four layers, four owners. Mixing the layers is the source of most blame discussions during an incident.
SAP's NF-e documentation (SAP Help, read on 16/10/2026) describes the integration pattern: the ERP supplies the data the authority requires, and a messaging system communicates with SEFAZ and with customers and suppliers. The company can use a SAP product or another messaging system.
This is where a component such as e-Invoicing fits. NTT DATA describes it as a component that connects to tax authorities and to databases. The help page read covers SAP ERP, and the documentation for your version is the reference for S/4HANA.
SAP ERP
Originates the document: sale, purchase or service, with tax determined by the setup and the master data.
Messaging layer
Communicates with SEFAZ and with customers and suppliers, following the pattern described by SAP. It is the place for an issuing and receiving component.
Tax authority
Validates and authorizes. The authority's response is the official status of the document, and SAP must reflect that status.
Tax team
Decides the treatment, checks the exceptions and answers for the result to the tax authority.
Seven steps of the electronic tax document, and who performs each one
The path comes from the rules and the official documentation, not from the product. It helps locate where a component comes in and where it does not.
| Step | What happens | Who performs it |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Taxable event | A sale, purchase or service creates the document in the ERP, with tax determined by the setup. | SAP and the company's tax team |
| 2. Assembly and signature | The document becomes XML in the official layout and is signed with a digital certificate (MOC 7.0, Annex I, read on 15/10/2026). | Messaging, with the company's certificate |
| 3. Transmission and authorization | SEFAZ validates and authorizes. Only then do the goods move (SAP Help, 16/10/2026). | SEFAZ |
| 4. Rejection | A failure in schema, certificate or rule returns the rejection, with a code. | Whoever built the data or the XML |
| 5. Contingency | With SEFAZ or communication unavailable, the issuer may operate in contingency. | Issuer, according to the rules |
| 6. Receipt and acknowledgment | The recipient receives the invoice and records the acknowledgment event (NF-e Portal, 16/10/2026). | Recipient |
| 7. Filing | Authorized documents feed the SPED filings. | Tax and accounting |
According to NTT DATA, the product handles the exchange of documents with SEFAZ and city governments and the capture of received documents, which touches steps 3 and 6. Steps 1 and 7 stay in SAP and with the tax team. For steps 2, 4 and 5, confirm with NTT DATA which part belongs to the product.
Where the rejection comes from, and why who fixes it changes
Knowing the layer of the cause avoids asking the wrong area for the fix. In practice, a rejection asks for the code before it asks for someone to blame.
Transmitter certificate
The MOC lists rejections for an invalid, expired, revoked or out-of-chain ICP-Brasil certificate, under codes 280 to 286. The cause is the certificate, not the tax data.
XML structure
A schema failure, such as rejections 215 and 225, comes from the assembly of the document. Whoever builds the XML fixes it.
Business rule
Inconsistent data, such as master data, CFOP or tax, starts in the SAP setup and master data. A transmission component does not fix the source data.
Event and acknowledgment
Rejections tied to events, such as 633, for an NF-e unavailable for download without recipient acknowledgment, and 651, for denial of the operation on a canceled or denied NF-e.
The full table of rejections is in MOC 7.0, Annex I, in the November 2020 version read on 15/10/2026. Check the current version and the technical note for your layout on the NF-e Portal.
Five questions about contingency, before the day SEFAZ goes down
Contingency is provided for in the rules. What the product does in it, and who decides, are points for your contract and your rehearsal.
MOC 7.0 provides issuance types for NF-e: normal, FS-IA, SCAN, EPEC, FS-DA, SVC-AN and SVC-RS, plus offline contingency for NFC-e (Annex I, read on 15/10/2026). The NF-e Portal reported, on the reading of 16/10/2026, that no state had active SVC-AN contingency and that nothing was scheduled.
| Question for NTT DATA | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Who decides to enter contingency: the product or the company? | The decision has tax and operational effect, and needs a named owner before the day. |
| Which contingency types does the module support? | Each type has its own rule. Support for one does not imply support for the others. |
| What happens to a document issued in contingency when SEFAZ returns? | The later regularization has a deadline and a step in the rules, and needs an owner. |
| How is SAP told the status of each document? | A document in contingency is different from an authorized one, and posting must know the difference. |
| How is contingency tested? | A contingency test without rehearsal becomes a discovery on the day of the outage. |
Contingency in retail, at very high volume, has its own page: NFC-e in retail with SAP.
Acknowledging an operation is a company decision, even when the event is automatic
Automating the event changes the speed, not who answers for it.
The NF-e Portal offers the recipient acknowledgment service (16/10/2026). The MOC provides a rejection when an NF-e is unavailable for download without acknowledgment (code 633, read on 15/10/2026). A product that captures received invoices touches this event.
Who acknowledges
If the product records the event on its own, the company needs to know under which rule, and who approved that rule.
When to deny the operation
Confirming or denying an operation is a company decision, with purchasing and tax. No product decides for it.
Where the proof sits
The recorded event and the SEFAZ return are the proof. Ask where they are kept, for how long and how the auditor accesses them.
Event handling in SAP is in automatic inbound NF-e, CT-e and events.
Elasticity, volume and billing: what to take to the conversation
Elasticity is a product claim. Your company arrives with its own volume, not with the portal's number.
NTT DATA says that, regardless of volume, the solution adapts, with stable traffic and proportional billing (visit on 16/10/2026). To give the conversation scale: the NF-e Portal showed 62.137 billion authorized NF-e and 2.977 million issuers on 16/10/2026. This is a national number, and it does not measure your environment.
What to gather on your side
- Documents issued per month, by document type.
- Documents received per month and the share of the highest-volume suppliers.
- Peaks in the year: close, seasonal dates and campaigns.
- Number of CNPJs, branches and NFS-e municipalities.
- History that must remain searchable.
What to ask NTT DATA
- What the billing unit is and how it behaves at a peak.
- Whether there is a limit per period and what happens when you reach it.
- How the product behaves at a month-end close with high volume.
- How NTT DATA measures and reports usage to the customer.
- What the procedure is when volume moves to a new level.
Five questions about where documents are kept and how they come back
the tax document is the company's obligation, even when an outside service stores it. The way out must be agreed on the way in.
- 01
Format of the stored document
Ask whether the original authorized XML is preserved and in what format it can be delivered to the company.
- 02
Retention period
Ask how long the product keeps each type of document and what happens afterwards.
- 03
Audit access
Define who in the company and who in the audit may look at the documents, and how access is recorded.
- 04
Periodic export
Define whether the company keeps its own copy, and how the product exports history in bulk.
- 05
Contract exit
Ask how documents return to the company if the contract ends, and within what time.
Six security points to request in writing before you sign
When an outside service processes the tax document, the company still needs to know how the data is handled. The answer is worth more in writing.
Access control
Who at NTT DATA can see your company's documents, under what conditions, and how access for your own users is granted and removed.
Access log
What records the product keeps of who viewed, downloaded or changed a document, and for how long the company can consult them.
Backup and recovery
How the service backs up documents and how fast it restores a lost document, described in writing.
Incident notice
How and how fast NTT DATA informs the company of an incident that affects documents or transmission.
Personal data
Where data is processed and stored, and which roles the company and NTT DATA take in processing, under the LGPD.
Independent evidence
Which reports or certifications apply to this product, and the document that shows what each one applies to.
A tax document carries data on companies and on people. A certification of a company or of an environment is not automatically a certification of a product. Ask for the document that links each one to what you will buy.
Two products with different owners, and what each source allows you to state
The comparison uses only what each owner publishes. Neither is presented as better.
| Point | SAP, official source read | NTT DATA, source read |
|---|---|---|
| Product owner | SAP, with SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC). | NTT DATA, with GUEPARDO e-Invoicing. |
| Model | Public cloud services on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP blog, 13/04/2023, read on 16/10/2026). | Software as a service on the AWS cloud (according to NTT DATA, visit on 16/10/2026). |
| Who talks to the tax authority | SAP manages communication with the Brazilian tax authority web services (same blog). | The product exchanges documents with SEFAZ, city governments and the Federal Revenue Service (according to NTT DATA). |
| Issuing and receiving | There is an issuing option and a receiving option in DRC for Brazil (same blog). | Issuing and receiving NF-e, NFS-e and CT-e (according to NTT DATA). |
| SAP predecessor | SAP NFE, also called GRC NFE, is on-premise on NetWeaver, with a planned end on 31/12/2025 in the April 2023 post (the current status is on the migration page). SAP advises migrating to DRC. | No published relationship. |
These are two offers from different owners for a similar topic. What the difference means in your environment depends on documents, volume, scope and architecture, and the choice is your company's.
What the sources allow us to say
- The owners, the models and the declared scope of each, in the sources above.
- That SAP advises SAP NFE customers to plan the migration to DRC.
What the sources do not allow us to conclude
- That e-Invoicing is DRC, replaces DRC or uses DRC underneath.
- That one of the two is better than the other.
- The current status of SAP NFE, which is in migration from GRC NF-e to DRC.
Where issuing and receiving end and the obligations begin
Whoever assesses e-Invoicing often asks whether it also handles SPED. The answer depends on four distinct layers.
Issuing and receiving
Exchange of NF-e, NFS-e and CT-e with the government. It is the topic of GUEPARDO e-Invoicing, according to NTT DATA, and of SAP DRC, according to SAP. See electronic tax documents.
Repository and returns
SAP TDF is a platform on HANA with a central repository of tax data. Version 1.0 offers APIs that generate the tax SPED (EFD) and the accounting SPED (ECD) for partner applications (SAP blog, 14/03/2014, read on 16/10/2026). See SAP TDF.
Tax calculation and obligations
NTT DATA describes GUEPARDO Tax as a solution for municipal, state and federal tax obligations (visit on 16/10/2026). See GUEPARDO Tax.
Filings
SPED and EFD-Reinf depend on authorized documents and have their own layout and deadline. See ancillary obligations and SPED.
NTT DATA links e-Invoicing to EFD-Reinf and to SPED. Which obligation your environment generates through which product is an architecture decision, and it is designed in SAP before buying.
The document layout changes, and the question for NTT DATA has a date and a version
Any issuing and receiving product follows the official layout. What matters for the purchase is when and how.
The tax reform changes fields of the electronic tax document because of CBS and IBS, and the NF-e Portal already carries the RFB and CGIBS acts in its legislation menu (16/10/2026). The topic has its own page: tax reform, CBS and IBS.
Version and date
In which version and on what date the module starts handling the new layout, in issuing and in receiving. Ask for an answer in writing.
Supplier documents
How the module receives an invoice from a supplier who already sends the new fields, and what happens to a field SAP does not know yet.
Update window
How the change reaches the environment, and how your company tests the new layout before using it in production.
The SAP side is in tax reform SAP Notes.
Eight contracting questions, all for NTT DATA
These are questions about scope, service and contract exit.
| Topic | Question for NTT DATA |
|---|---|
| Scope | Which documents, municipalities, events and input channels are in scope for my case, and which are left out? |
| Billing | What is the billing unit, and how does it change with volume? |
| Service | What is the product's support channel, and how is an incident that affects document issuing handled? |
| Environments | Is there a test and a validation environment, and how does it connect to my company's test SAP? |
| Versions | How does NTT DATA announce and deliver new versions, and how much time does my company have to test? |
| Responsibilities | What is the responsibility of NTT DATA, of my company and of my integrator, in writing? |
| Documentation | Which technical and functional documentation of the product does my company receive, and who can consult it? |
| Exit terms | How does the contract end, and how do the documents and the configuration return to my company? |
Module availability, scope and terms belong to NTT DATA and are confirmed with them. Take the answers in writing to the internal decision.
Six things that an issuing and receiving product does not replace
This is the most common question from buyers: if the product solves it, what is left for the team. What is left is below.
The tax decision
Which treatment the operation receives is a company decision. Transmission carries the document with the data SAP delivers.
The tax setup
CFOP, CST and tax determination still originate in SAP. See tax setup and tax calculation.
The master data
Wrong CNPJ, registration, NCM and material and partner records cause rejection in any layer. See tax master data.
Tax calculation and filings
Tax calculation and SPED come out of SAP or another obligations product. See ancillary obligations.
The proof in your environment
No product description proves that your flow works. The proof is the test with your documents and your data.
Change governance
Who decides, who validates and where the decision is recorded remain the company's, at each update.
Three situations where the problem is before the transmission
Buying an issuing and receiving product does not fix a failure in records, process or environment. These three appear often.
Many rejections from data
If many invoices come back for master data, CFOP or tax, fix the source data first. See tax master data.
Events with no owner
If cancellation, correction and acknowledgment depend on whoever remembers, design the process and name the owners. Then automation speeds up something that works.
No tax test environment
If you cannot rehearse an issuance, a rejection and a contingency before going live, build that environment first. Without it, the proof becomes opinion.
The product chosen changes speed and control, but it does not change the quality of the data that goes into it. That is why the order matters: data and process first, tool afterwards.
Seven SAP items to have ready before switching on the product
The list applies to any issuing and receiving path, and it is the part that DFSpro designs, configures and proves in SAP.
| What to prepare in SAP | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Partner and material master data | Wrong source data causes rejection, and the rejection shows up only after the invoice is transmitted. |
| Tax determination and CFOP | The product takes the document to the government with the tax SAP calculated. The correct calculation comes before transmission. |
| Series and numbering | Missing or duplicate numbering has its own handling, and voiding is an NF-e Portal service. |
| Digital certificate and owner | The certificate expires, and an expiry with no owner stops issuing. |
| Technical users and profiles | In general, the connection between SAP and an outside service uses technical users, with a profile and a usage log. |
| Monitor and document status | SAP must show the tax team the status of each document, from authorized to rejected or in contingency. |
| Event routine | Cancellation, correction letter and acknowledgment need a routine defined in the process, not only a screen. |
Six scenarios to prove the flow before you decide
The proof uses your documents and your data, in a test environment. A product description does not play that role.
- 01
Normal issuance
A simple NF-e, from the taxable event to authorization, with the status reflected in SAP.
- 02
Provoked rejection
A deliberately wrong piece of data, to see the code returned, where it appears and who fixes it.
- 03
Contingency
The rehearsal of entering and leaving contingency, with the handling of documents issued in it.
- 04
Cancellation and voiding
The two services provided in the NF-e cycle (SAP Help and NF-e Portal), with authorization and numbering reconciliation.
- 05
Receipt with acknowledgment
A supplier invoice captured, posted and acknowledged, with proof of the event.
- 06
NFS-e from a real municipality
A municipality from the company's portfolio, with withholding and service code, from start to posting.
Each scenario ends with evidence: document, status, posting and who checked. To build the scenarios and the exit criteria, use as a base tax tests in SAP.
Four company profiles, and the first question for each one
the starting point of the assessment changes with the bottleneck of the environment. No profile depends on a specific product.
Many invoices received
The bottleneck is input. The first questions: input channels, capture, PDF reading and acknowledgment. The proof starts with receiving, not with issuing.
Many service municipalities
The bottleneck is NFS-e. The first question is the list of municipalities served and the handling of those that have not yet adopted the national standard. See NFS-e by municipality.
High-volume issuing
The bottleneck is availability. The first questions: contingency, rejections, behavior at peak and how SAP sees the status of each document.
Environment with SAP GRC NF-e
The bottleneck is the calendar of the current product. The first question is which path to follow, and the decision is the company's. The page migration from GRC NF-e to DRC gathers the history of SAP NFE and the DRC path.
Six mistakes that show up in the assessment and in the implementation
These mistakes are costly because they are found late, and all of them have cheap prevention.
Assessment mistakes
- Comparing by brochure: a product description is not proof. Ask for a demo with your documents.
- Asking only about billing: the billing unit and the volume change the total cost, and the conversation needs both.
- Forgetting receiving: whoever assesses only issuing finds out late about the capture and acknowledgment work.
Implementation mistakes
- Switching on with no contingency plan: the first day of outage becomes the first rehearsal.
- Leaving the certificate with no owner: the expiry stops issuing with no warning.
- Accepting without a rejection test: the code and the owner appear only when a real invoice is refused.
Five roles, and what falls to each one
When each role has a name before starting, nobody assumes that another area already checked.
| Who | What falls to them | What does not |
|---|---|---|
| NTT DATA | The product, its terms and the information about what it does. | The tax decision and the setup of your SAP. |
| Company IT | Connection, certificate, profiles, environments and rollback plan. | Deciding whether a tax result is acceptable. |
| Tax and fiscal | Deciding the treatment, validating the result and signing the acceptance. | Operating the product's infrastructure. |
| Accounting | Checking the filing and reconciliation against authorized documents. | Defining the capture and acknowledgment rule. |
| DFSpro | As an Authorized Channel, license, implementation and governance of GUEPARDO. In SAP, the tax configuration around electronic documents. | The tax position and the buying decision. |
Six steps to assess e-Invoicing without losing control
A short roadmap, in the order in which each step depends on the previous one. The final decision is your company's.

Who decided, what weighed and the date.
A short record, made during the assessment, answers most of what the audit and the executives ask months later.
Authorized Channel for GUEPARDO, and the SAP tax layer around it
The SAP part is the one DFSpro designs, configures and proves. The product and its terms belong to NTT DATA.
As an Authorized Channel of NTT DATA for GUEPARDO, DFSpro sells the license, implements and governs the product, which belongs to NTT DATA. To know what e-Invoicing covers and under which terms, confirmation comes from NTT DATA.
| DFSpro delivery in SAP | What it is for | Where to go deeper |

Who designs and proves, who decides and who answers
The test shows the behavior of the system. The company decides what to do with each result.
GUEPARDO e-Invoicing is an NTT DATA product, and what is here about it is what NTT DATA publishes, with source and date. The choice of issuing and receiving path, the buying decision and any tax decision are your company's. Our part is to design, configure and prove, in your SAP, the behavior of the tax documents.
DFSpro designs and proves
- The SAP tax layer around the documents.
- Test scenarios and evidence, one by one.
- The comparison before and after a change.
The company decides
- Whether to buy, and from whom.
- The tax treatment of each operation.
- Which difference to accept and which open item to take on.
NTT DATA answers
- What the product does and under what terms.
- The availability and scope of the module.
- The service and the versions of the product.
The routine for working together with the company's team is described in how we work with your team.

How the cloud talks to the add-on in SAP
Points from the module presentation that help the IT team ask the right questions before switching on e-Invoicing.
The connection
According to NTT DATA, the ABAP add-on in SAP and the e-Invoicing cloud connect through RFC, the standard method of external connection to SAP. NTT DATA states that, because it is a cloud solution, there is no impact on SAP PO licensing.
Both sides of the cloud
One side talks to the tax authorities to retrieve documents, and the other to the AWS database where the product keeps its data, according to the presentation.
What the add-on does in SAP
Creates the e-Invoicing transactions in the installed SAP, prioritizes batches and sends them to SEFAZ or the city government, prints DANFE and DANFSE, accepts manual or automatic contingency and returns the status to the ERP.
Purchase order at inbound
The material does not recommend automatic creation of the purchase order at document inbound. It is a process decision for the customer, and the question is worth taking to the inbound design.

Frequently asked questions about GUEPARDO e-Invoicing
01Is GUEPARDO e-Invoicing the same product as GUEPARDO Tax?+
No. They are distinct NTT DATA products. According to NTT DATA, e-Invoicing handles the issuing and receiving of electronic invoices, and GUEPARDO Tax handles tax obligations. Many environments have both, and the architecture defines where each one acts.
02Does e-Invoicing replace SAP GRC NF-e?+
SAP advised SAP NFE customers to plan the migration to SAP DRC (blog of 13/04/2023). e-Invoicing is an NTT DATA offer of its own. Whether it fits your case, NTT DATA confirms, and the choice of path is your company's. The status of SAP NFE is on the migration page.
03Is e-Invoicing the same as SAP DRC?+
No. DRC is a SAP product, in the public cloud on SAP Business Technology Platform. e-Invoicing is an NTT DATA product, described by NTT DATA as software as a service on the AWS cloud. They cover a similar topic, and the sources read do not allow us to say that one is better or that one uses the other.
04Is the product a cloud service or does it run on my server?+
According to NTT DATA, it is software as a service hosted on the AWS cloud, and it integrates with the customer's infrastructure, in the cloud or on-premises. Ask NTT DATA for the architecture drawing that shows how the two statements fit together in your case.
05Who talks to SEFAZ and the city governments, SAP or the product?+
According to NTT DATA, the product exchanges documents with SEFAZ, city governments and the Federal Revenue Service. In the pattern described in SAP documentation, the ERP supplies the data and a messaging system communicates with SEFAZ. Confirm with NTT DATA which part of the communication belongs to the product.
06Which documents does e-Invoicing cover?+
NTT DATA lists NF-e, NFS-e and CT-e. To learn coverage by municipality, by event and by layout, bring the list of your municipalities and your events and ask for the answer in writing.
07How does the product capture the invoices I receive?+
NTT DATA states automatic periodic capture from SEFAZ and city governments, with a webservice every 1 hour at SEFAZ and every 10 minutes at city governments (product page, 16/10/2026). Whether this is a rule or a setting, and for which city governments, is a question for NTT DATA.
08What happens when SEFAZ is unavailable?+
The rules provide contingency issuance types, such as SVC-AN, SVC-RS and EPEC (MOC 7.0, Annex I). Which types the module supports, who decides to enter contingency and how to regularize afterwards are questions for NTT DATA, and the rehearsal is a test of your environment.
09If an invoice is rejected, does the product fix it?+
It depends on the cause. Certificate and XML structure have their cause in transmission. Inconsistent tax data starts in the SAP setup and master data. Each rejection has a code in the MOC, and the fix belongs to whoever originated the data.
10Who decides recipient acknowledgment?+
The company. The NF-e Portal offers the service, and a product can record the event automatically. Confirming or denying an operation remains a decision for tax and purchasing, with an approved rule and proof kept.
11Will e-Invoicing handle the layout with IBS and CBS?+
NTT DATA must answer with a version and a date, in writing, for both issuing and receiving. The official layout comes from the technical notes on the NF-e Portal. What changes in SAP is on the tax reform and SAP Notes pages.
12How do I prove the flow in my SAP before deciding?+
With six scenarios in a test environment: normal issuance, provoked rejection, contingency, cancellation and voiding, receipt with acknowledgment and NFS-e from a real municipality. Each scenario ends with evidence of document, status and posting.
13What is DFSpro's role in GUEPARDO e-Invoicing?+
As an Authorized Channel of NTT DATA for GUEPARDO, DFSpro sells the license, implements and governs the product. For e-Invoicing, availability, scope and terms belong to NTT DATA and are confirmed with them. In SAP, DFSpro configures the tax layer of the documents.
14How much does it cost and how long does it take to implement?+
The amount and the timeline depend on documents, volumes, municipalities and integration, and are set with NTT DATA and in the conversation about your environment. Gather your monthly volume by document type, because it is what sizes the conversation.
Tell us which documents your company issues and receives and on which SAP
The conversation covers your volume, your municipalities and the state of your SAP, with no price and no commitment on timing.
